Project S.H.E.L.L

Project SHELL is a 15-minute immersive storytelling experience for the Meta Quest about sea turtle conservation. Turn into a Loggerhead sea turtle and progress through its life, from hatchling to nesting adult. Learn about the threats facing the species, and on-going conservation efforts.

Hope for Haiti

Faculty leader and SOJC Assistant Professor of Immersive Media Psychology Danny Pimentel works with the Snap AR Scholars student-led agency, which teaches students how to build AR content and research the effectiveness of their Snapchat lens for the nonprofit Hope for Haiti.

Vanportal

Vanportal served as an immersive memory activism project designed to leverage augmented reality (AR) as a method for connected Oregon audiences to the history of Vanport, Oregon. The project underwent a 3-phase process progressing from ideation, through development, and distribution.

Hike for Haiti

Now more than ever, the children, parents, and grandparents in Haiti need support. Hike in solidarity this April - June while helping to raise funds to strengthen Hope for Haiti's response to the current crisis. This Snap AR project is in support of this initiative. 

Charity Water

For his Strategic Communication Master's capstone project, Jake Savelich ’23 proposed marketing tactics that leverage immersive technology like virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), to help donors feel empathy for those without reliable access to clean water.

Eagle Creek Fire Explainer

In the spring, representatives from the U.S. Forest Service granted the students supervised access into some of the restricted zones within the burn area. There, the students captured 360-degree video on the ground and in the air with drone-mounted camera rigs.
